Producer / Senior Producer

DESCRIPTION

The Producer / Senior Producer will partner with development teams to oversee and support all aspects of video game publishing. This role acts as a liaison between external developers and internal publishing teams, coordinating production, marketing, sales, and distribution while ensuring projects ship on time, within budget, and at the highest possible quality.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES
 
  • Manage the day-to-day production needs throughout all phases of the development cycle (pre-production, alpha, beta, submission, and post-launch).

  • Review and approve development milestones based on established criteria.

  • Track publishing schedules and report on the progress of multiple titles in development.

  • Ensure quality of releases by coordinating with QA, external test groups, and playtesters to identify bugs, performance issues, and accessibility concerns.

  • Work closely with localization partners to develop plans, manage translations, and oversee localized testing.

  • Coordinate updates and patches for live games across multiple platforms.

  • Handle submission and certification processes with first-party platforms (Steam, Nintendo, Microsoft, Sony).

  • Gather and submit materials for age ratings in multiple territories.

  • Meet regularly with development teams to assess status, identify risks, and remove roadblocks.

  • Track development expenses, manage budgets, and coordinate with accounting.

  • Provide technical oversight on build processes, including version control, branching strategies, and build distribution.

  • Collaborate with developers to maintain smooth pipelines between engines, build systems, and publishing tools.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

 
  • 2–4 years of experience in a game production role.

  • Proven experience shipping at least one game across multiple platforms and regions.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent industry experience.

  • Familiarity with platform backend systems (Steamworks, Nintendo Dev Portal, Microsoft Partner Center, Sony DevNet).

  • Experience managing remote teams and distributed developers.

  • Proficiency with project management tools (JIRA, Trello, Confluence, etc.).

  • Strong technical understanding of build systems, version control (Perforce, Git, SVN), and branching/release management.

  • Must have gaming hardware capable of running modern games.

PREFERRED SKILLS

  • Familiarity with popular game engines (Unreal, Unity, Godot) and common plug-ins or middleware (e.g., Wwise, FMOD, Photon, PlayFab).

  • Understanding of development disciplines such as art, design, engineering, and QA.

  • Knowledge of different business and distribution models (premium, F2P, subscription, early access).

  • Ability to identify and mitigate risks during development.

  • Collaborative attitude with a focus on building strong relationships with development partners.

  • Problem-solving mindset with the ability to balance creative goals and practical constraints.
